In June, at the invitation of Ashoka—Social Entrepreneurs Network, Terra Nova took part in a project entitled “Reflections on the links between civil society organizations and socio-environmental impact businesses”.
Designed to strengthen the debate on change trends seen by entrepreneurs in their own fields, the panel offered reflections on new paradigms of sustainability for the social industry and new emerging business models, thus providing practical solutions for the social sector in the 21st century.
“It is inspiring to take part in such an event and realize that so many people endeavor to carry out projects that truly change the lives of those who most need our help both in our country and all over the world”, said Terra Nova’s new projects director, Daniel Albuquerque.
Jointly organized by the Center for Social Entrepreneurship of the University of São Paulo (CEATS-USP), the Institute for Corporate Citizenship (ICE), and Ashoka—Social Entrepreneurs Network, the “Reflections on the links between civil society organizations and socio-environmental impact businesses” project brought together leaders of social organizations that develop income-generation initiatives or businesses whose organization models contribute to financial sustainability and to create environments that favor collaborative talks, reflection, and the production and sharing of knowledge.
